Guest guest
Carmella, My doctor put me on a prescription niacin (Niaspan). One aveat....causes flushing of he skin and burning. The way to avoid that side effect is taking it with a small amount of apple sauce or triskets(the snack food). I take 500 milligrams a short time before bedtime....I tried 1000 mg. but there was too much flushing. I woke up about 1 am with my skin really burning. If that happens take an anti-histamine. I take 500 mg. without a problem...it is a high dose. But when I went back to him after 3 months my cholorestal was lower. Good luck.
