Guest guest
I am big on shoes - so forgive me if this is long winded. I have EARTH SHOES(red boots with buttons up the side. The toe box was shallow when I wore my afo's (I wear afo's for foot drop) so I had to stretch them quite a bit - also, they make me walk a bit heavy on the heal so I have to watch that I am not slamming my feet down on impact. I have a # of pairs of CAMPER boots. They have lots of flat styles and styles with rounded toes. The rounded toe style tends to offer more width in that area. I still have to stretch the arches to accommodate my feet, but once they are stretched they are very comfy and fairly light. I have one pair of UGGS they are very comfortable. I want to get the embroidered style ugg boot which is very feminine and funky. When I had a better paying job I had a bootmaker make lasts of my feet & I had 2 pairs of boots made. Although it required more money up front, the boots last much longer, can be easily repaired as they age, and they are by far the most comfortable. The cost may be far less than off the shelf when considering the life of the shoe. I like a flat flexible sole (my brace is rigid enough on its'own), and a soft leather such as kid skin. Boots that lace up the front are easier to negotiate an afo with, but boots with side zippers can be stretched as needed. DOC MARTIN offers some light weight round toed shoes but the classic styles run very heavy. I'm going to buy a pair of MBT's to wear after the baby is born. They are supposed to provide more of a workout than other shoes. People have recommended NEW BALANCE shoes on this list. I wear my New Balance sneakers the most - very comfy and light. Happy shoe hunting, Chris
