Guest guest
Gretchen, Do they offer this shoe in childrens sizes also? My daughter is wearing Nike size 1.5 wide but it isn't wide or deep enough at the toes.
Guest guest
, hello, Good question! The article I first read about the new Nike's did not say, nor did subsequent articles. I will ask if they have that shoe in kid's sizes. Gretchen
Guest guest
, I just found this article that mentions the new Nike's and in it is stated the shoes will be distributed to tribal wellness programs and * tribal schools * so apparently this new Nike IS available in kid's sizes. We just need to get Nike to sell them to those people who are non-Native Americans. http://www.boston.com/business/articles/2007/09/25/nike_designs_shoe_fo r_american_indians/?p1=MEWell_Pos4 Gretchen
Guest guest
, Does the footplate of your child's AFOs extend to the end of her toes? If so that is the problem. My orthotist and the Shriners have found out that that isn't necessary and will just create problems with getting shoes to fit. Now my AFO footplates just go past my arches and taper out to nothing. It makes all of the difference in the world. Talk to your dr and your orthotist about this. The problem with today's orthotist is that they don't wear braces too so they have no idea what works and what doesn't. When I was a kid it was the tailend of the polio crisis and a lot of the orthotists wore braces too. So they knew what would work and what wouldn't. That is missing now. Hope this helps.
