That's not mandatory here, but I had a cup that I use at the coffee shop I most often visit. I've had it for several years now and it has paid for itself many times over. Their disposable cups are paper and you use a corrugated paper sleeve as an insulator if you use one and it works very well, better than Styrofoam. Every now and then I use one because I didn't have my cup handing when I decided to drop in.

Another thing that Toronto has instituted recently is the "bring your own travel mug, get a discount on your beverage" policy in an effort to reduce the number of styrofoam and heavier plastic coated cardboard cups. For people who routinely grab a coffee on the way to and/or from work, either on foot, via subway or by car, this seems to be a reasonable option and very environment friendly.RavenLife should be easier.
