Guest guest
I have not found research that suggests Omega 3 would help CMT Myelin. This info below is about MS, which is different than CMT, as MS affects the immune system. For more on the difference between CMT and MS, look in our Files section. You may want to talk to your doctor about the addition of the Omegas to your diet, depending on your nurtritional status. Gretchen " A lack of Omega-3 fatty acids in early life during myelin sheath formation may predispose the individual to multiple sclerosis in later life. The myelin sheath is the gossamer membrane insulating material surrounding nerve tissue. Deprivation of Omega-3 fatty acids to an infant during the critical myelin sheath growth period may weaken the nerve structures. Later viral infections could result in slow deterioration may years later " . http://www.springboard4health.com/notebook/nutrients_omega3.html More at http://www.omega3sealoil.com/Chapter3_1.html http://www.dhaomega3.org/index.php?category=health- conditions & title=Multiple-Sclerosis
