Guest guest
Hi everyone... I'm wondering out there if anyone has had problem's as a child with more proximal weakening? Gavin now has marked weakening of his thigh and hip adductor muscles on one side...He has just come through a big growth spurt and has major fatigue...we are now getting him a power wheelchair for evening riding around when going longer distances outside...he needs to be independent and we can't keep pushing him in a stroller. It seems to me that he is weakening faster than most...his back is weak too and he tires holding himself upright. Oddly he doesn't have a ton of footdrop nor has he major foot deformity...the neurologist said he is weaker overall than typical 1A. Apparently it is possible that he has more than just a triplicate copy of PMP22 (hence 1A)...but another more type 2 gene activated also, although this hasn't been tested. Any thoughts? Has anyone experience with power chairs? Thanks Sally
