Life Insurance: has anyone had luck getting it?

Has anybody been able to get life insurance, or at least some at a

somewhat affordable price? I have wanted to get some for quite awhile,

but a number of people I've talked to, including my insurance agent

from State Farm haven't been very encouraging. Does anybody have any

suggestions, or can recommend a company or agent I could contact?
