Guest guest
This will seem like a silly rant to some, but it is something that has me really, really angry right now. Two weeks ago, the Cartoon Network night programming guys brought back my favorite anime series, Ghost in the Shell. I was all set to watch the series over the next year or so as they ran through all 50 some of the episodes one each Saturday. So, I put it on the channel and get ready to turn down the volume and go online for a while until the show came on. But first, I thumbed up through the schedule on the TV and to my shock, GitS wasn't listed! So I look up the station online and check the schedule and it was listed for the first two weeks and then it was gone. I checked the boards and it was listed there as being taken off again. Talk about infuriating! They've had flaming Inuyasha on for years now and have literally run through the entire very long series at least 7 or 8 times, probably more if you count that they show it practically every night, sometimes a full two episodes of it. Most of their new anime stinks and isn't anything I'm interested in anyway. Mostly though what they show is homebrew stuff. That stuff is terrible, with a couple of exceptions, and even those are more miss than hit. Some of it is so bad that if it were shown to the inmates at Gitmo, they'd be sued for war crimes. Its all made by the same pretentious morons who think humor is beating the same joke into the ground over and over again by characters with dead boring, and bored, voices. They wonder why ratings are down? They just have to watch their own junk to figure that out. What really galls me is the change of schedule. The previous programming block was only up for two weeks, two weeks that had major Hollywood movies released at the same time, something which surely cut back on viewers. It is also annoying because they have junk shows up, or ones on their Nth rotation, but they take down this one which used to be very popular, at least as popular as Inuyasha going by the activity on the boards. Anyway, I put up a post on the boards to the point that I wasn't watching their programming anymore. Last time they ran GitS, they cut it off well into the second season. That made me so mad that I only weatch two shows on CN late night. Now I'm not even going to watch those. Morons. If they want to be keep people watching they need better programming and they need to keep a constant schedule. If they keep changing it every couple of weeks, then they are going to lose ratings. I wonder how long it is going to be before Networks and Cartoon Network itself comes down like a hammer on these twits. Looking for a car that's sporty, fun and fits in your budget? Guest guest
It is rumoured TV schedules might disappear in 10 years ish. When all TV has gone digital, it will be better if they sell programmes for downloading from the web at convenience, than having schedules. Surely that will be more popular with the fans of cult sagas.

" It doesn't seem silly to me in the least that you should be so upset. This hits at the core of a network's responsibility to be respectful towards the people who keep their network alive. If it wasn't for viewers, advertisers wouldn't have a reason to place their promotions with the network and networks would go bankrupt. That networks are so disrespectful towards their viewers is unconscionable and if people continue to shrug their shoulders and say, " oh well " the networks will continue yanking the rug out from underneath people. Your anger is not over-the-top and I know that if another business pulled a similar 'bait-and-switch' on you, you would be equally upset. I think any reasonable person would be! Guest guest
Network TV has done the same with a lot of my favorite programs. ABC canceled one called " Invasion " which was pretty good after one year. The show they replaced it with I never watched but it was canceled as well. I also hated that they recreated the old " Land of the Lost " series and canceled it after two years after promising a third season. The new series was lousy, but the scripts got better by the end of the second season. Of course, by then no one was watching. It was only a kid's show, but it could have been good if they had budgeted it properly. Administrator
Guest guest
> What really galls me is the change of schedule. I noticed this when my daughter watched Death Note, it was never at a set time. But to cut the series two weeks in is stupid, I mean why did they bother running it at all then? When my daughter kept missing episodes because it was on so late I told her I thought it would be better to rent the series on dvd. I would be very angry also .
