Guest guest Posted November 1, 2007 Report Share Posted November 1, 2007 Hello everyone! I wanted to say I'm thrilled that I picked up my new custom-fit plastic AFO today! Happy Halloween, indeed! Just a few alterations were made while I waited, and I walked out of there (literally!) inside of an hour. I mentioned that I felt like I was walking funny, and she said I looked like I was walking normally! It must have been so long that I've walked with a limp that normal feels weird... Anyway - I'm excited to start wearing it more each day. I can already see I need new shoes to accommodate the extra width of the brace (OMG - shoe shopping; what a crisis! *LOL*); looks like a few styles of tennies are in my future! Oh - and I'm a bowler, too! Does anyone have " special " or personal bowling shoes to accomodate a bulky brace? Also wanted to say welcome to Andy - and I agree with everyone that you have a wonderful attitude! I'm also glad your sons are here to save peoples' lives. And Gretchen - I've been meaning to thank you for all the fascinating articles you post!! I especially enjoyed the recent one on stretching; it's a major part of my physical therapy, feels great, and it's good to know it's actually strengthening as well!
