Hi everyone,

I know everyones " SPECIAL " but as I read the posts it got me thinking

about labels and how school is the main place where your child needs a

label. My daughter is 4 and could start kindergarten next year.

People don't realize she has anything different about her by just

looking at her.

I know her abilities and worry worry worry about school. She is smart, she is

quiet, she has CMT, she is creative. I just dont' want the CMT to be the center

of her life. I want to avoid the label of " disabled " yet I still want people to

be accomodating to abilities.

So what did all of you do with your kid's teacher...did you give tons of info.

on CMT and tell them all their weaknesses (like she can't run, can't jump, holds

a pen funny,) or did you down play it and just briefly mention it.

How do you help your child stand up for their own abilities, and sometimes

inabilities with physical activities? What about recess and gym? Anyways,

thank you group.

Amelia
