I have always had a hard time cutting my nails. The shiney clippers

always got slippery in my hands and I would have a hard time holding

them and lose my grip and drop them. Then I was recently up at Kmart

and happened to look in the nail grooming isle. There I found some

clippers with a rubberized coating. I bought the large and small

clippers as well as the tweezers. I haven't had any problems at all

with this new set. I am fairly sure you can find these at just about

any drug store or Walmarts and such. The brand was called TRIMZ. I

hope this helps somebody.

Does anyone know where I can get nail clippers and files for my toes?

I have a problem bending over to do my toes.

I have CMT and arthritis in my spine, hips, knees and ankles. Also deteriorating

disc and Pagets disease of the spine.

I tried trims, but my claws don't have enough leverage to work it. I find using

a regular toenail clipper with the palm of my hand instead of my fingers works

best. The kind of clippers that look like wire cutters work ok too, but not as

well as a toe nail clipper.

I don't have a lot of strength in my hands, hardly any actually. When I cut my

toe nails I sit indian style which brings at least one foot much closer. I have

to use both hands to do the clippers but it gets the job done. When one foot is

done I switch feet position to where the other one is on top.

I always had an extreemly hard time using the clippers that look like wire

cutters. I couldnt control the spring action it had, let alone the fact the I

didnt have the strength most of the time

to even squeeze them. It was a dangerous feet for me since I would

often drop them while trying to use them and they would more often than not land

on one of my feet. OUCH!

So it took a little patience and trial and error but thats how I got used to

using the regular nail clippers. And the rubberized ones at least didn't slip

out of my hands. But if you have the strength the wire cutter looking ones are

good too.

Each person has to find what works best for them. And sometimes that

means a lot of trial and error. Good luck all!
