Guest guest
Hi, I have a question for those of you dealing with cholesterol issues. My 18 yr old son, who has CMT, had some blood tests done before Christmas and his cholesterol is high. I know, I know... he started his first year at college away from home and it's obvious that his eating habits aren't what they should have been. Anyway, we are now learning about cholesterol and what you can, can't eat as he has to go on a low cholesterol diet for 3 months then has to be rechecked. Any suggestions on what foods you've found effective in lowering cholesterol? What about vitamin supplements - do they make a difference? He plans on going to the fitness center when school is back in session later this month. I definitely want him to get it under control through diet and lifestyle changes as from what I've been reading on the posts the meds to help lower cholesterol aren't good for those with CMT. Any other thoughts/suggestions appreciated. Thanks! Carmella
