Guest guest
Hi Juli, Like I said in another post, my doctor really didn't tell me much. He basically said we just have to " mask the pain " . I have lots of pain in my feet and toes, even though they are numb. You can stick pins in my feet and I won't feel them. I can walk on black top in the summer and I don't feel it. My toes feel like they are being strangled. I have zapping sensations and feelings of electrical shocks in my feet and toes and it starting to happen in my legs. Sometimes it feels like bugs are crawling on my feet. My feet constantly burn too. My ankles give out a lot when I walk but I haven't sprained them yet (not since I was 11). My legs are tired and feel heavy a lot. My doctor said that because there is no other cause for the neuropathy (diabetes or alcoholism) and because of my high arches that I have CMT. Everything I've been learning is through research on the net. I do have back problems - I have broken facet cartilege in my lower back on the left side, a bulging disc in my lower back on the right side, scoliosis, stenosis in my spine and degenerative disc disease. I got a set of 4 nerve blocks done today actually. All the doctors I've seen said that my back problems and feet problems are not related. Guest guest
Joy, I was told that the problem with my back is related to the CMT. When I walk it puts pressure on my back and caused the bulging discs problem. Christa
Guest guest
Wow - I am definitely bringing this up with my neurosurgeon when I see him in a few weeks. christa07@... wrote: Joy, I was told that the problem with my back is related to the CMT.
