Larry,

Thanks for the reply, Larry; I would certainly be interested in any info you get

from the medical community in Italy which does a lot of research into CMT.

:

My move to Rome is just 3 months old. I was born in Chicago and

probably acquired my CMT through my father. His family is German for

more generations than I can count, so the Mediterranean angle doesn't

fit my history.

The only dispositive test for CMT type is a DNA assay to see which

genes are involved. The EMG is dispositive only on how nerves conduct.

As my wife and I decided that our combined gene pool should stop here,

we never had children and I never has a DNA assay.

The weird results of my latest EMG are causing interest in my medical

team here, and they may ask me to have the test.

A will pass on any information on as I get it. I have begun a blog on

what an ex-pat life style is like for an old cripple like me. Should

anyone choose to read it, the URL is http://larryinrome.blogspot.com/.
