Guest guest
Hi! I have had shoulder problems also. Didn't connect them to CMT. At that time, about 2 years ago, I was working in a barn, throwing bales and flakes of hay around. I went to get it checked out -- it hurt so bad. The doctor told me it was a frozen shoulder. I did exercise it, but it took a long time to feel better. Just a month ago or so, my shoulder started hurting again..... I had been shoveling snow. But I keep moving it so it doesn't " freeze " . But it sure does hurt in certain positions. I'm still pretty strong, body-wise. My drop-foot and balance are the worse parts of CMT for me. My hands are not too bad, right now. As long as I wear my AFOs, I'm OK. JoAnn N. Newfoundland, Canada (originally from NJ)
Guest guest
Mandy, As far as waiting to see a Dr. for an injury, when I was in college and working full time, I was walking on a broken foot for about four months. The delay was partially because I didn't have health insurance at the time but also because some of us with CMT can tolerate pain longer as the sensory nerves are not sending the message back to our brains full on anyway. The Dr. I did see couldn't believe I had waited so long since my injury to see him and eventhough I had pain, the deficiency of the sensory nerves probably kept me from feeling it like some other people would. Hope this helps. Dawn
