Guest guest
Not sure if this has been posted before, but it is more than interesting. If we are to view everyone as a person in their own right, think about how much friendlier the world would be. Baggs is an inspiration. I would like to comment though, how does she care for herself. And if we look back in time a person who did not communicate their needs in the language of the people they were surrounded by often died. So, while I respect that her language is just as much of one as anyone else's, I also have to question whether she is able to care for herself or in other times whether she would have been an asset to their society.I am so happy that she was able to explain in words what a lot of us cannot. It is true that acting with our surroundings is communicating with the surroundings. We do feel, touch, smell, and taste things. http://well.blogs.nytimes.com/2008/02/28/the-language-of-autism/index.html?hp___
