Guest guest
Hello Everyone! My feet also turned cold, and dark purple when I was sitting. I found four things that help. 1. Infrared Sauna 2. Exercise in my hot tub, 3. put my legs up, 4. A small bite of a Marijuana Brownie before I go to bed. I have always been against drugs (you'll hear me say this time after time) I seldom drink alcohol, and I take no prescription drugs...So, when my naturopath mentioned to me all the success people were having with Marijuana...it took me awhile to go beyond the perceptions I had regarding the Herb. In Oregon you can get a legal card, which I did, and I have tried it for a year. It helped my breathing, swelling, eating habits, digestion, circulation and stress. Before I tried Marijuana I had to keep my feet up all day, and they were still cold, swollen at least twice the size of a normal foot, and it was very painful. Now, if I eat a small amount of marijuana before I go to bed, my feet look like feet. I did try to go off the marijuana. Within 2 weeks my feet were back to the swollen, cold and painful feet. I don't think there is any negative side effect because I take so little, but who really knows... Kay
Guest guest
Hi, I don't have the color change thing, but my feet are always, always cold. Here's an update on my marijuana situation: I've had the same neurologist, whom I like a lot, for years. But he's with Kaiser in San ,CA , an easy drive, BUT I've just given up driving and sold my car, because my hands are now affected to the extent that even driving with hand controls is difficult. So I switched to a neuro in Oakland Kaiser, which is closer and which I can reach more easily with public transit. He's a real jewel - knows all about neuromuscular diseases, including CMT (gasp!). When I asked about medical marijuana, he provided me with a form letter on the Kaiser letterhead (gasp again!) authorizing me to purchase medical marijuana if needed for pain. I haven't done anything about it yet. I'm also anti-drug, Kay, and want to proceed with caution. Since a side effect can be apathy and lethargy, I'm concerned, because I'm already half dead by mid-afternoon in spite of taking Provigil. What I need is more energy, not less. I also feel that the pain itself contributes to the fatigue, so the marijuana is worth a try. Thanks to all who have chimed in with comments and suggestions about using marijuana. Have a glorious Easter. Ruth
Guest guest
Ruth, I don't like meds at all...wish I didn't have to take BP meds. Feel awful on the stuff. Would like to try marijuana but worry about getting in trouble. Don't want to be tired..or more tired then I am! I don't drive either but my partner does no transportation out here in the boonies..My hands are bad too and with the AFOs I had trouble driving ..Felt sorry for the other drivers..They were not safe. LOL! I'm either to cold or to hot ...Gees... tried to live in Fla. thought I was going to die! So came back to Mnn.think I'll get a snowmobile suit and wear it in the house..........burrrrrrr Geri
Guest guest
Hi Kay - Everyone's emails have been very helpful regarding the color and coldness of the feet. I have struggled with that as well, but I hadn't seen anyone complain about swelling of the legs and feet until your email came through. My legs are always swollen now - did you ever ask a doctor to see if there would be side affects after a period of time? I also appreciate your input about the medical marijuana. I have not been a fan of legalizing marijuana for medical reasons - until now, now that I can understand the other side of it. I am not in pain yet, although my feet tingle a lot more than they ever did. So, I will keep a more open mind. Thanks for sharing the benefits.
