Guest guest
The reason I'm asking is because my sister-in-law is the third cousin of DeBenedetto who is also known as Tony . That's THE Tony , not someone that happens to have the same name as him like the Kim Hill happens to have the same name as a celebrity. My sister-in-law and him don't actually know each other, but they're still related. If I googled him, would he be willing and able to help us out in getting into the music industry and getting the Kim Hill I know signed with Grass Roots Production so she'd have a chance at performing with the Black Eyed Peas; or would I be wasting my time?God bless, Irelan

" Json, Raven's albums are selling online worldwide and in many music stores. In many respects, she IS a celebrity. Yet she is not willilng to help you beyond what she has, and I, who co-wrote some of the songs and painted the album cover for the latest album are unwilling to help you either. The reason? Because what you are planning to do, while it is with good intent, is not the correct thing until you actually ASK Kim Hill if she wants to be a celebrity. Speaking as a bottom of the barrel celeb myself, I would not have wanted someone to just sort of start building up a career for me without consulting me first. Guest guest
" So you're saying that if I do ask her and she says yes, you'll help me? " I'm saying that if you ask her and she says yes, there is a chance someone will help you. " I've already been told that she needs to take voice lessons and get training before anyone would consider getting her signed, which I intend to buy for her if she wants to become a celebrity because her getting rich as a celebrity will help me pad my wallet too since I'll be her agent. " She'll need more than voice lessons and training. She'll need to build up a resume of performances, which means starting small, such as singing at weddings and funerals, then bars and nightclubs, then clubs and festivals, and then concerts and performances. Some of these performances will have to be professionally recorded and mastered so that they can be submitted as a " demo " to whoever you want to send it to, but be prepared to have the demo discarded. Most demos that come unsolicited are simply thrown out upon arrival. There is more, but that is just the start. You would also need to do extensive training to do what is necessary to become an agent, which means familiarizing yourself with the recording industry and all the rules and laws associated with it, and musicians unions, and how to break into the industry. Likewise, before anyone would recognize you as an agent, you would have to build up your own resume by arranging the gigs for Kim and making inroads with all of those who might be associated with her career in any way shape or form, including sound technicians and electricians that might be doing the wiring for her gigs, etc. There is more, but that is just the start. " Only I won't charge her what other agents would charge her since I like her. " That might put you in trouble with the industry. If you try to undersell the competition too much, you and your client could get blacklisted. " I'd only charge her five percent, and I'd give her free bodyguarding services too. I got credentials for that kind of work because I've taken tae kwon do at two martial arts schools and got a first degree black belt at one of them, so no obsessed fans would be able to hurt her with me around. " Could you protect the whole stage at once? " Of course, I don't know how popular the Black Eyed Peas are. " Very. If you can keep 30,000 fans from swarming the stage at one venue, you must be one heck of a bodyguard. Adminsitrator
Guest guest
" Well my cousin was involved in a band. Do you think they'd be able to help us out? " Try talking to him and see what he says. Perhaps he can instruct you on what needs to be done. " Also, would it be possible for me to only charge Kim Hill five percent without getting blacklisted by keeping it a secret as to what we make? " You cannot keep it a secret. Your taxes and hers would reflect it as would other documentation. Administrator

" The best managers/promoters belong to varoius professionals organizations and there are set fees and percentages regarding representation. Even if you do manage to charge Kim Hill 5%, word will get out as you need to make deals and partnerships with other managers and promoters. The fees charges to the client(s) involved is usually split ... even when you use a booking agent to get into most locations. Trust me when I say that once the industry players at any level know that you are charging Kim Hill 5%, they will have nothing to do with you and they will spare no expense in alerting their colleagues to this fact. It's a very bad move on your part to continue with this idea of yours to make Kim Hill a celebrity singer. You would be better served applying for an entry level position at a booking and management agency in your area. Raven
Guest guest
you are going to have to make a choice here and it's not one you want to make. First off, if you are her bodyguard you will not be taken seriously as her manager or her representative. If you are her representative, you will not be allowed to be her bodyguard and if you charge less than standard industry rates, you will not be taken seriously by the industry period. What are you going to do when management for the various BEP members take their respective cuts of 30% (that's management for each and every member of the BEP) to throw into the hat and they turn to you and expect you to put in your 30% but you smile and say, " I only charge MY Kim Hill 10% so I guess I'll throw in that extra 20% out of my own pocket " and they wonder how you got your position managing YOUR Kim Hill? , build up your body and consider applying for an entry level job as a bodyguard IF you want to be a bodyguard. Get an entry level position with a booking and management firm if you want to be a booking agent that morphs into a manager over the many years it takes to learn the business in order to be an effective artist manager. I'm done talking to you on this subject, . It's a very bad idea you have and you are perseverating badly on what you want rather than stepping back and seeing the reality of the situation. Raven > > Well then I'd just go ahead and charge her 10% and then give back 5% without telling anyone because I don't want to charger her any more money than I have to. I'd rather be working as her bodyguard and for the rest of the Black Eyed Peas and have the band paying me to do that and not charge her a cent. > God bless, Irelan >
Guest guest
, I have been following this thread from the begining and not saying anything, but I think its time I speak out. My husband and best friend are musicans, extremely good ones, You can ask Raven and Tom, how good my best friend is and Raven can tell you how good my husband is. My cousin is Daryl Hall From Hall and Oates, My college roomates first cousin is Lee Roth From Van Halen. If what you had in mind worked don't you think I would have done it already and found fame and glory for my best friend and husband. It does not work. It is not how the music industry works. Please Drop it your only going to hurt yourself and I don't want to see you hurt, either does anyone else who has responded to your posts. We are trying desparately to save you from yourself. Most of what you are sugesting is Illegal and can land you in jail. Now for you Kim. I get you have a crush on her, but to continue like this your going to scare her. I had a crush on one of the guys in my husbands band back before and I were together. Looking back on it and knowing Steve (the guy I was obsessed over) I wouldn't date him If you paid me. I never really knew him I was in love with what I wanted him to be not what he is. my now and for the past 11 years husband, was my best friend. Look around you may find love where you least expect it and stop killing yourself trying to furfill a fantasy. Even if it does work out it will never be good enough cause she will never be able to live up to your expectations. You have a good heart, go out there and help try to make the world a better place rather than waisting your time on fantasies and you will find people who appreciate you for you. I know I did it, it works. Please know I write this in all kindness.
