Guest guest
I get the burning in my feet right before a flare and even worse I get these horrible pains that start at the top of my body and run down my arm then down my side to my legs. It only effects one side of my body. Its so bad that I have to stop what ever I am doing and just stand there in pain. after it goes away my body heats up for about 20 mins and I start to sweat profusly. [ ] Burning feet Anyone else that is not diabetic get where the bottom of your feet feel like they are burning? I was just tested for diabetes recently so I know that isn't the issue. I will be seeing my rheumy in 2 weeks and will ask him about it but you all are really the experts from experience. I know diabetics can have this problem but otherwise I just don't know what it could be. Any help would be great.
Guest guest
also when I have these my hands cramp up and my body shakes. they are hard to describe. its like my whole body has had an elecrical shock. I haven't found a way to explain these yet to my dr and having a hard time trying to explain them to you all. Its feels like hell when it happens and once they are over with I feel a bit wiped out from them but keep moving on with my day. Yeah me, I have been working 14 hour days again and have another one tomorrow. We really need the money so badly or else I wouldn't do it. Maybe now I can find a way to call my dr and make an appt and actually be able to make the co-pay. Guest guest
- what you are experiencing sounds so scary. Especially where it is affecting only one side of the body and in such a severe sounding way. IMHO, I would high tale it to the ER next time that happens - it sounds like you've got more going on than just a flare from RA. I understand how you need to work and you need the money, but honestly - your health is way more important - the money stuff will figure itself out in time. And what's the point in paying for health insurance if you can't afford the copay? I will never understand that one.....Doreen I get the burning in my feet right before a flare and even worse I get these horrible pains that start at the top of my body and run down my arm then down my side to my legs. Guest guest
Diane, Mine is the entire bottom of my feet. Do you remember if you got this before or after Arava? (you were the one who took it right?) Sorry I can't always remember who is on what. > > katie > > I too get burning in my bottom of my feet..right were the ball of the foot..I always thought it was burning from inflamation. I sometimes get it in other joints.. > > diane from ohio >
Guest guest
Gosh , that sounds terrible. I wonder if that could be a hormonal thing? I get night sweats sometimes but not often. Then sometimes I get really cold. Maybe I have a circulation thing going on. I had them check my hormones already before the burning feet. Maybe you should get your hormones checked. > > I get the burning in my feet right before a flare and even worse I get these horrible pains that start at the top of my body and run down my arm then down my side to my legs. Guest guest
, maybe you could copy the posts to us and show your doc. I think you explained it well from what I can tell. Sometimes there just is no clear cut way to say these weird symptoms. Good luck to you. In a way it sounds kind of neurological but I'm not a doctor so this is just a guess. > > also when I have these my hands cramp up and my body shakes. they are hard to describe. its like my whole body has had an elecrical shock. Guest guest
, Arava can cause peripheral neuropathy. It could be that your symptoms coincidentally appeared after you started the Arava and that 10 mg wasn't enough to control them, but 20 mg was. I'll be interested to hear what your rheumatologist says. Not an MD On Tue, Jul 7, 2009 at 12:11 PM, ktandtm<ktandtm@...> wrote: > Actually I have been thinking about that too. I believe the Arava can cause neuropathy which is what I am taking. Funny thing is that I think I had this symptom when I started the med at 10mg. Then when I went up to 20 mg this symptom dissapeared. However, 1 1/2 months ago they lowered me back down to the 10mg because my WBC were too low. So hopefully once I raise it back up or stop it completely this will go away. I don't know it is all just so weird but then again what makes any sense with these dang AI's. >
