Guest guest
Gretchen, thanks so much for all of the information you find & post! It's much appreciated! This is an excellent article for statin users and those considering statins, when all other alternative ways of reducing cholesterol haven't worked. This study shows that not all statins are the same. Lipitor, Pravachol and Crestor appear to carry less risk than Lescol, Mevacor & Zocor. This is consistent with other information I've seen showing that all statins aren't created equal. Example: http://www.medicinenet.com/statins/article.htm In addition, this study indicates that using Propranolol along with Lescol, Mevacor or Zocor may carry even greater risk. (Since Red Yeast Rice can contain lovastatin, I wonder if it too would fall into the riskier category. The article does not discuss Red Yeast Rice. I'm just wondering.) Thanks again, Gretchen, for the information & all the time you put into researching and maintaining this group site!
