Guest guest
Ty, Thanks for your response. If you don't mind me asking, how did you go about getting a grant from the hospital? Qualifications? terms? etc. I had no idea such a thing existed. I wonder if all hospitals do it & in all states? Donna in Indy
Guest guest
Hi Donna, I live near the Seattle area and went to Harborview hospital to be seen by a foot and ankle specialist there. When my doctor had told me that the surgery was the best option for me, I had to figure out what was the best way of knowing to be able to afford the procedures that was likely to be taken place on my feet. I knew my insurance wasn't going to cover any of the operation, so I had asked the doctor if there were any ideas that he might have to get this covered. He had said that the hospital does have a grant program (if you qualify) that would be able to cover the whole operation and all of the clinic visits. When I went to applied for the grant in the admin. department of the hospital, all they asked was just how much me and my spouse had made for that month of the surgery. If we made under $4,000 a month we would qualify for 100 percent covered. If you made more than that it would go down by 25 percent depending on the payscale of your monthly income. I hope that helps, It is challenging at first but it will get better. Ty
