Guest guest
, It could potentially be of interest to those of us with the PN of CMT and symptoms as we age. The rats used were not 'CMT' rats, but still lab quality Wistar rats. This was posted because it is PN research, and general PN research of all kinds may also be of value in CMT specific research. I feel best thinking 'outside of the box' when it comes to CMT. Gretchen
Guest guest
I agree, Gretchen. So...thinking 'outside the box'...perhaps we can recommend a CMT research study on this subject? If aerobic activity in CMT individuals could slow down the progression of the nerve degeneration or even repair some of the damage that would be significant! If it proved to be true, but we aren't physically able to exercise enough to get aerobic, I wonder if doctors could raise our heart rates artificially to produce an aerobic effect as a treatment to protect our nerves? Just pondering the possibilities!
