Guest guest
Hi all, Probably not many if any can remember my post re knee arthrodesis due to so many dislocations resulting in the knee being so loose and the muscles so atrophied that a knee replacement was not even an option. I had the arthrodesis done in Nov 07 and all the pain went and I was left with a pain free and stable knee - saying that I also have a leg that is now perm. in the way, in a nut shell - I can't drive, being a passenger is only 'ok' for a matter of 10 mins or so. I can't say how many probs come with it but at least I tried as I could not cope with the knee pain I had before the arthrodesis. It has now been decided that I will be having an above knee amputation and yes a second opinion has been done etc. As many prev. messages have shown we all have varying degrees so please don't think (poss to newbies) that this will happen to you, we have folk here who have very good capabilities and still have good exercise routines and not much atrophy and enjoy many activities, swimming, aerobics etc and on the odd occasion you get me (very odd I hasten to add ha ha), I just wished to keep you updated. Love to all, Jill x
