We went on three cruises last year and one so far this year with another

planned. Each airline treats my husband's scooter differently, but we have

found it is least apt to get damaged if he drives up to the gate, I take it

apart, and they give it back to us at the next gate. There is no trouble on the

ships, especially if you can get a handicapped-accessible room, which usually

has enough room to turn the scooter around. The last cruise we took we left

the scooter in the hall with no problem. Tender exits are difficult, but the

cruise line will often have a wheel chair to lend you. Some shore

excursions are too difficult, but the scooter fits under the buses. since

handling luggage has got to be women's work, this is the only way we travel.

When we don't have a handicapped-accessible room, I can take a collapsible

canvas seat for the shower.
