Women: How would you take this?

Due to the rapid weakness in my right foot & ankle, I finally broke down and

started using a cane when I go out to unfamiliar territory.

The other night I went out to dinner with a couple of girlfriends, and this man

came up to me and said... " you are way to pretty to be using a cane " .

I instantly snapped!, and told him " Well, I don't choose it like I do earrings &

necklaces, and like a jerk, if I didn't need it, it wouldn't be with me, so if

that was suppose to be a compliment forgive me for not thanking you " .

Did I over react because of my own self consiousness ? or would that have

offended any of you other CMT gals??

Just curious.
