Guest guest
I looked in the files and didn't see anything posted about Jacuzzi's or Hot Tubs...does anyone have anything to share about any relief they may receive from using one for pain management in their CMT? The surgeon has recommended swimming to help speed up 's recuperation however the pool isn't heated. I was wondering if soaking in a jacuzzi was something anyone has tried. Thanks... Guest guest
Hi , In the past, when I was able to swim, I would warm up in the jacuzzi first perhaps 10-15 minutes with some slow arm/leg movements. After the swim, I would get back in the jacuzzi for another 10-15 minutes and do slow stretches. The cold water doesn't feel as cold when you soak in the hot water first and you reduce the chance of injury. (Nowadays I soak in a hot bath almost every day for pain relief.) Guest guest
, I have a Dimension 1 Swim Apa and I enjoy it quite a bit. I keep it at 92-96 degrees. I am able to stretch better than on dry land. Try a PT center and see if they have a heated pool! Kim
Guest guest
Hi , I am behind here, but I wanted to let you know I took my swim spa out (because it was inside my house) and I put an enclosed outdoor hot tub in. It is a 6' round cedar tub and it is 4' deep. I put some walking rails on the top of the tub. This is how I practice my walking. I have a photo of it in photo's if you want to check it out. I keep it at 95 degrees, I use an ozonator, and bromine. I also have a disco ball and music in the area so I can dance in the water... This keeps me young at heart! ;-) Have a great day! Guest guest
Thanks Kay! Sounds lovely and practical! I will check out your pictures. I've always believed in the relaxation of jacuzzi's for overused muscles and stress and I just had to hear it reaffirmed from someone with CMT before I seriously give it consideration for . He loves the water so this might be the avenue we take. Thanks again!
