Tompson had been living with the boy, his mother and another man. An autopsy showed the boy died of multiple skull fractures, which led to bleeding in the brain and respiratory arrest. Pima County Superior Court Judge Campoy said Tompson and the boy's mother, Diane Marsh are responsible for killing the boy. Marsh is scheduled to be sentenced Thursday after a jury convicted her of negligent homicide and four counts of child abuse.
