With a demyelinated nerve, the problem isn't the signal, right? The electrical impulse could be strong, it just can't make it all the way down the deteriorated nerve, as I understand it. However, perhaps introducing the signal closer to the diaphragm, so there's less distance to travel, might work. Don't know. Just wondering. I also wonder if they can test it on the outside of your body before inserting it, to make sure it helps first. Be interested in whatever you find out. My doctor did mention the possibility of " reinnervating " the diaphragm when it becomes paralyzed. It's something they are doing for people with spinal injuries.
