Guest guest
I'm writing this in hopes of getting some ideas to help my son. He lost his job last week, due to the fact that he has been working on a fractured ankle for 3 months now, and could no longer do it. He is married and has 2 small children, and he needs corrective surgery for his feet something terrible. I went over to their house last week, and for the first time in a while, I saw him in a pair of shorts and no shoes. I was shocked to see the rapid progression this disease has taken on him lately. His ankles are protruded outward so bad, that they are close to touching the ground. He is being very depressed and stubborn about it all, saying he'll just deal with the pain, there's nothing that can be done about it anyway. My heart sank, and my mind is going a mile a minute trying to figure out someway of helping him. I know corrective surgery would help him tremendously, because I had it done myself 8 years ago, but with no job and no insurance I don't know what avenue there could be, so the Mom in me has kicked in, and I'm thinking if I could only start a fund raiser or something for him, but have no clue how or where to start. I would love to hear any ideas on how to get a fund raiser off the ground, or does anyone know if the MDA clinics help with providing corrective surgeries. Thanks for listening, Donna in Indy. --------------------------------- Be a better friend, newshound, and know-it-all with Mobile. Try it now.
