Connie,

I seemed to remember that schizophrenia has a connection to the

hormone progesterone...can be helped by. Use www.google.com to

search for these words: progesterone for schizophrenia.

Low progesterone/high estrogen causes all sorts of brain

disfunctions, including simple depression and simple or severe

seizures.

Ann Who is new to the group and believes the research collections of

Peat, PhD. has been proven every year since I learned of him.

Looking for an ND in the Portland area who is comfortable treating a child with schizophrenia. Mother is looking for nutritional/lifestyle support as well as support in eventually reducing or coming off of medication.

Thank you,

Deborah Caldwell

Deborah,Gil is willing to work with this child and family. Depending on the type and onset, some of the treatments he uses may be helpful. He has not worked with people with thought disorders as much as mood disorders, but he has had such good success with autism and neurological disorders that it makes sense to try. He certainly is very familiar with the mental health aspects and special considerations of working with someone with schizophrenia. He is great with his child patients, as you know!Just have the parents contact the office at , and Kristiyn will get them scheduled.Best,
