Everyone may already be aware of this, but just in case, I thought I'd mention that this law won't apply to CMT. As the article indicated, " GINA does not prohibit discrimination once someone already has a disease, and some experts said such protection would have to be the next step. " Genetic testing for CMT actually proves we have the disease. It's not a " marker " indicating we might get it in the future. Once someone has a disease, insurance companies can discriminate in many situations, i.e. individual medical plans, life insurance, disability insurance, long-term care insurance.
