About time in my opinion.

They could easily prevent this with a few ships brought out of

mothballs from several different fleets. The pirates are not all

that well armed.

What I think would be a cool idea would be to retrofit old diesel/

electric subs (there's still quite a few Russian Whiskey class ones

on the open market) and use those. Harder to maintain but much

harder for pirates to track. (0) Though there's something to be said

for " creating a presence " .

Maintenance could be paid for by the liquidation of pirate assets or

separate secure courier jobs (customs approved of course). With a

little applied brainpower it could certainly be made self-sufficient.

(0) Solar panels are efficient enough now that you could cover the

deck of those subs with them and rotate the subs out for charging as

necessary provided you had enough of them. It would reduce diesel

dependence and and the need to dock. With a good desalination system

you would only have to dock for food, ammo, and maintenance.

In the end the journey only matters if you've helped someone along

the way.
