Guest guest
My son had a black pair. They didn't work with his weak ankles at all. I am very happy they work for a few people with but they are not going to work for anyone that needs ankle support. Not to be a stick in the mud. Guest guest
Don't be silly you are not a stick in the mudd just because they didn't work out. I have learned more over the last few years regarding various treatments and I have tried the same treatment after achieveing results from a particle treatment whet back and tryed the same thing and guess what it worked. Guest guest
so many of us have different needs. I had the toe-offs and at first i loved them and thought what a difference they made. Then they snapped because i put a lot of pressure on my right foot to go up and down steps. They are good if you have foot drop, but i have muscle weakness on all 4 sides of my ankle and it only addressed one side of the ankle. I am still in search of the perfect AFO and i probably need to look at a KAFO as my quads are so weak. jackie
Guest guest
, If your son needs ankle support the traditional AFOs would be better for him. I have the shorter ones and they are cut out in the back like metal braces. They are also made out of kevlar and graphite so they are lighter and stronger. They are also thinner. They work well for me. They might for him. My orthotist, Wade Bader of Bader Orthotics in Tampa, made them for me in camo. I like the look, your son might too.
