Guest guest
My husband's doctor gave him WelChol [colesvelam HCl] which he says works in the digestive tract and can't cause muscle problems. Does anyone know anything about it? Elinor
Guest guest
This is the first I've heard of Welchol. Do people use it just like CSM? I don't tolerate CSM. Would be great to know if there were a good alternative. Guest guest
Since I am not a scientist, I cannot tell you the differences between the two but can tell you I can tolerate Welchol better. > > > > See if you can get Welchol. It is a tablet and I found CSM really hard to tolerate, not my stomach but swallowing. I also think that acidophilus is really helpful for your stomach to reset the balance that gets disturbed by the whole experience. > >

Guest guest
I have used whelcol and did very well with it. It is much more expensive but it is a great alternative to CSM. What I did id alternate between the two because I have heard several times that the CSM does work better but I am not able to tell the difference other that the fact that it is much easier to take and seems to do just as well. Guest guest
I don't mean to be a pest, but could you please answer: How many milligrams do you take? How many times a day? Thank you. Guest guest
I have taken it (Welchol) for a long while now and do not take it with my vitamins and supplements in the morning. I think it would take the " benefit " -(I am not a doc or pharmacist) but take it " with a meal " and it does not bother me. CSM did. I keep some in my purse to take when I am out to dinner. It works for me. I also took wheat bran for many years both before and during my exposure and feel that as sick as I was; that I would have been worse without the bran, which probably pulled out some toxins " as I went along. Guest guest
, tell me how you use oat bran and wheat bran in oj. Never heard of that. Do you buy special type that is meant for that or this is just how you get it down. Is it ground like a fine powder? thanks > > I have taken it (Welchol) for a long while now and do not take it with my vitamins and supplements in the morning. Guest guest
I go to the health food store and buy it there - a large spoonful of each at the bottom of a wide mouth glass. Then I stir while pouring in the OJ. You need to start with a small amount and drink it fast before it thickens. The wheat if flaky and the oatbran is a finer grind. The key is to stir while pouring the juice. I use a seafood fork, or a very thin fork to keep it moving. > > , tell me how you use oat bran and wheat bran in oj. Never heard of that. Remember it is for cholesterol reduction. It is usally 3x a day for that. Your doc will have to adjust the dosage for you.
