HI Keir

A while back I meant someone on a CMT list that had used FES. She had very mild

CMT before treatment. She held down a job at Harvard. She could jog around the

block, walk up stairs and lead a really active life. After 1 or 2 treatments of

FES she was in AFOs full time and using a wheel chair at times. She was so weak

she was going to have to quit working. She said FES ruined her life. She was

pursuing a law suit last I talked with her. This was 10 years ago.

We don't want to stimulate our nerves. It kills them. There is another treatment

by a similar name called TES. You can google Dr.

Pape to learn more about it. TES brings a mild vibration to the skin. The

theory is the vibration will bring blood flow to the area and feed the muscles.

The vibration is hardly noticeable. It helped Adam get some feeling back but it

was a real hassle for next to no results. I haven't talked to the PT in 9 years

but I am sure she can help you understand FES and TES. Her Name is Dilger

and she had an office in Hollywood Caifornia.

I had FES when I was a child...now I'm wondering if that's why my feet are so

small??? size 1 and 1/2 my feet are almost as wide as long and I just have very

short toes.....what do you think??...this might explain a lot of things. My feet

were put in a water bath and they kept turning up the elc..sometimes it would be

painful and I recall my toes and feet jumping around the treatment took about an

hour...I was around nine or ten years old.

Thank for the info

Geri
