Guest guest
Hi Jackie from the UK! My name is Donna and I live in London. I was diagnosed in 2004, as in 2003 I did a half marathon and my feet killed me, and when I went to buy new shoes, they commented on my gait and foot roll and said they would not sell me trainers until I saw someone for orthotics, and when I went through the process to do that I wound up with a neurologist presenting classic symptoms for CMT. I am currently seeing folks at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, and I have had a good experience there. I am highly functioning and do not have many issues discussed here, but I have some and I find the site incredibly information and helpful for me - I tell my doctors about it, as CMTUK is not quite as good with regard to being a research repository. In fact, I do not belong to it as I find I get what I need through . Best wishes, Donna from London -------------------------------- I am participating in the 2008 Rallye Aicha des Gazelles - to learn more and donate to my chosen charity Women for Women International, please check out our team blog - www.gazelles08.blogspot.com - or track us real time at Team 147 www.rallyeaichadesgazelles.com - thank you for your support! Guest guest
Hi Donna, Glad to find someone else from the UK. MY neurologist said he diagnosed a 92 yr old once. So it can be diagnosed anytime in life. My symptoms are slowly progressing. My balance is worse now and also think I have breathing probs as I have involunatry gasps at times. I have started Tai Chi and find it beneficial for me. Jackie
