Guest guest
As well as recommending the vestibular PT are there any home exercise machines which are helpful for folks with CMT?
Guest guest
Well, you can always get a treadmill and a recumbant bike for starters. Perhaps at your local gym or YMCA you can look at the different equipment, try it out, and see what would work for you. It may be practical to join a gym or the Y and use the pool instead of buying your own equipment. Or if you have the space and want to put in a pool for aquatic exercise try http://www.EndlessPools.com/ or http://www.swimex.com/ Gretchen
Guest guest
During my living on disability life I found the the ABLounger was perhaps the cheapest low impact exercise machine that delivered the most bang for the buck (provided one is able top get on and off it as it sits rather low). It gives the benefit of an exercise ball as it allows you to over bend your spine, without the challenge of having to balance youself on and exercise ball. If your legs are basically dead and you need to work on your core, it's a great way to do so without killing yourself. You can sit in it and watch TV while you exercise. It provides a good way to get your daily reps over time so as to keep your blood O2 level good (those living with 1/2 a diaphram will understand) They go for about 90 dollars at Walmart. Goodwill is also a good source of cheap exercise equipment I got my exercisecycle and a rubberband weight machine for 10 dollars apiece.
