My counselor recommends that I picture a river, and my stressors and

worries are represented as leaves falling into the river and flowing

away. I haven't tried it yet, but I have tried other relaxation

techiques that she has taught me. Just sit in a quiet place, shut

your eyes, and first start by relaxing your body, paying attention

to your breathing, and starting from the top of your head to the

bottom of your toes - relax your head, then your neck, your

shoulders, arms, fingers, legs, feet, toes, etc. Once you're

feeling relaxed, then think about what's worrying you and picture it

as a leaf falling off a tree, into the river, and flowing down the

river. You only need to spend a few minutes doing this, and then

slowly bring yourself back and open your eyes.

Does any one know what the problem is when you are stressed and you

start taking to yourself a lot

Or some times you make your self stressed for no reason

I get to the place I just can't fuction. times when I am not under

stress I talk to myself say bad things to myself. Call myself names.

It is like any little thing sets me off. It seems to be getting worse.

I work full time and don't need this problem.

I was on antidepressants and still did it, who do I talk to about it?

Can someone help. Has it swomething to do with the pain meds. that i

take

I definitely feel worse when I am stressed and feel stress is what brought on

the RA in the first place.  What to do to de-stress is individual I think.

Walk, rest, get a massage, etc.

Hi guys,

anyone else has had an issue when they are under stress did their RA

get worse. Since going on arva I haven't had much problems with my RA

but then on September 12 I got layed off and haven't found a new job

yet so I am stressing and I have noticed joints hurting that havenet

gave me a problem in months. Just wondering if anyone else has had

this issue and what you did about it.

Thanks

Angie
