Balance Problems & surgery

Like most of us, I have balance problems. Sometimes I think people

think I'm drunk even when I'm not. :-)I was even field tested once for

DUI by a cop who was very suspicious until he gave me the real test

and I was OK.

I'll be doing ankle fusion and realigning the foot bones so it lays

flatter. My wife thinks that will help the balance because now I walk

on basically three points of my foot and after surgery more of it will

be on the ground. My thinking is that my " tripod feet " are as stable

as if they were flat and the balance is more related to general weakness.

Has anyone experienced balance improvement after surgery?
