Guest guest
This should come as no surprise to anyone who voted for Obama. Especially those of the Jewish faith. He has unswervingly supported Palestinian activists and has said repeatedly that Israel was living off the American dole for far too long. Of course in the frenzy of the " Change " campaign, voters missed all of this although I was posting articles to this effect long before the election. Amazing how foolish people can be and the bad voting decisions they make when in the wave of a social tide. " The era of the blank cheque is over, " said Indyk, director of the Centre for Middle East Policy at the Brookings Institute who is considered close to incoming secretary of state Hillary Clinton. " The Obama administration intends to be engaged, using diplomacy to try to bring about a safer and more peaceful place, that is different from the seven years of the ( W.) Bush administration, " he said on public radio. " President Obama surely will want to work with Israel on this (Middle East) agenda. But there are obligations on both sides (Israel and the Arabs). Both sides will have to respect these obligations, " Indyk said. Acting Prime Minister Ehud Olmert held a " long conversation " with Clinton earlier this week and welcomed her nomination in Obama's team, his office said. She vowed to work for peace and stability in the Middle East.
Guest guest
I feel that in many occasions the US has erred in that a better position for all players would have been for the US to act as a referee. I think that one priority should be getting people in Israel and people of the same breed as King Hussein of Jordan (Against Israel's policies, but also against using violence to expel Israel, instead he favored a peaceful compromise. No relation to Saddam Hussein.) together. As for Israel, they have an interesting facility for survival. It is not too often that a little country can defend against six larger countries in six days, and win, with the experts saying that had they traded equipment with their enemies the result would have been the same. ..
