Introduction

I have posted a few times, but have neglected to introduce myself. I

am 59 years old, from Baltimore, MD, and was diagnosed about 3 and a

half years ago. I am on my third set of AFOs (for both legs) and

feel much more disabled when I don't wear them. I have 3 children; my

oldest is starting to show symptoms at 32. My main difficulties are

walking any distance and getting up from the floor or ground. I also

have to be careful not to choke when swallowing; my husband has had to

do the Heimlich Maneuver twice. This forum is great - not knowing

anyone outside of my family with CMT, it's good to feel part of a

group.
