Hi, i was wondering if anyone out there that has CMT was ever

misdiagnosed with ALS? My husband has been having problems with his

left leg where the calf muscle has atrophied and the foot looks like

the classic CMT foot. He has been having a lot of pain on that foot

and was recently told to go to a neurologist. Well after spending 10

minutes with the neurologist with EMG results taken earlier he was

told he has ALS. His father has something going on with his legs and

hands for the past 30 years where his fingers are totally disfigured

and atrophied. We think it could be CMT because both his father and

grandfather had the same hands and disfigured fingers but my husband

took a test for the 5 most common CMT genes and they all came back

normal. I know that there are a lot of CMT genes but they dont always

test for all of them, which i think is the case here. I am sorry this

is so long but i am really worried and just trying to find some

answers. Thanks, a
