Guest guest
The Peripheral Neuropathy Group within the VIB - Department of Molecular Genetics is looking for a Postdoctoral Researcher for CMT We have contributed to the identification of genes responsible for various types of inherited peripheral neuropathies. The identification of genes and disease-associated mutations is the first step in understanding the pathomechanisms, and opens new perspectives for molecular genetic diagnosis and therapy. Genotype/phenotype correlations guide the selection of specific mutations suitable for functional analysis in cellular systems and model organisms. One of our projects aims to study a the effect of mutations in a gene that we recently identified for Charcot-Marie-Tooth neuropathy. The postdoc will apply molecular genetic and cell biology tools to study specific mutations. http://scholarshipdb.blogspot.com/
