Guest guest
Suzanne, The fun never ends, does it? I've had the opposite path; Neurontin to Lyrica to Lyrica + Cymbalta. The Cymbalta addition just made foot nerve pain worse, and gave me crazy side effects of nervousness, mild insomnia, more frequent and powerful twitches, and an even worse short-term memory. Doc took me off of 60mg Cymbalta 3 days ago, and has started me on Keppra, and the effects are unknown. My nerve pain is confined to my feet and seems to be worst when I first get up in the morning. Second worst is from 3pm until I go to bed, getting progressively more stingy as the day wears on. I tried to get doc to perscribe a pain med to take " edge " off and he fixed me up with Tylenol-3; whoop-dee-doo. Won't perscribe anything stronger for fear of addiction. Funny thing is though, he said he could refer me to pain specialist; knowing full well their paths include hydrocodones, oxycodones and the like. I guess my doc didn't want to turn me into a zombie, but evidently would let another doc do it. Sheesh. Anyway, I just felt like comiserating a bit. I am just so tired of pain meds. I hope you have successes in your drug trials and find something that works for you. -Steve in Indiana
Guest guest
Thanks for your reply Steve. So far, the Cymbalta is helping my depression, but not much on the pain. I'm using a cane during the day and taking hydrocodone & generic ambien at night. I can be in alot of pain by the time I drive home from work and its worried me that I don't have the braking response time I used to have, especially coming home in pain. I'm very limited in my finances right now, so those three meds are all I can afford. Hope that the Lyrica works out for you. --Suzanne in TN
