Guest guest
Hi Megs, Cortizone injections can weaken bones. Here docs will give maximum of 3 (at least in my experience) and no more. I haven't heard of cortizone causing muscle atrophy, per se, but if bones weaken, I can understand muscles may weaken. I had the three injections - prior to back surgery - first one worked for about 15 hours, next two did nothing, just wasted time. There are some good meds for arthritis, I suggest you talk to your doc about this. I don't know what kind of arthritis you mum has, but here there are many good ones - one I learned of recently only needs to be taken once a year! Guest guest
Hi Megs, Can't answer your question, but I'd like to know where your mom's arthritis is and if it's an ankle she's getting the shot, I'd like to know if it helps. My ankle is " end stage arthritis " from CMT and I need to put off surgery a bit. I'm wondering if cortizone would help.
