Guest guest
Chavonne, I read in a CMT magazine 11 years ago that CMT crossed all races equally. With CMT everything changes. About 23 years ago I was told that CMT came from the south. With all the mis-diagnosis and under- diagnosis we may not know for a long time what the CMT facts really are. Just my thoughts. Guest guest
Chavonne, CMT affects all ethnicities, in the US and worldwide. Perhaps you might want to connect with Denedria Banks (read her book " Melodies of my Life " http://www.amazon.com/Melodies-My-Life- Disabled-Womanhood/dp/0595356818?tag=dogpile-20) Also TyKiah http://community.ci.columbus.oh.us/Commissioners/TyKiah%20.htm I'm sure Google can get you more information about them. 2 amazing women! Guest guest
Yes, black with CMT - Common or not I'm also black with cmt with all the symptoms you mention before surgery, inherited from my mother as well as two brothers. Know that we are survivors, over comers.I've had surgery to correct the hammer toes and high arch as well as stabilizing the ankles, it's still a few issues but all things considered all is well.We are not so much diagnosed or maybe it's demographic, but we are effected just the same. Thanks for sharing, keep you head up!!
