While the product lines are broader than resistance machines, the general complexion of the company is one of poor performance in the competitive market place. Is that due to more of the " conspiracy against Nautilus/HIT the true believers espouse " or merely due to the dying down of a product life cycle? *** Being the fact that the Nautilus Company today has nothing to do with the original Nautilus Sports Medical Industries that was sold in 1986, that statement is incorrect. The company today has hardly nothing in common with the standard Arthur represented. Landau, Aventura, Florida
Guest guest
, As you note, Nautilus is not the same company that it was under . The true area in which Natutilus/Bowflex excels today is in marketing, there 30 minute TV informercial. While they don't exactly lie, they don't give one all the facts. Example, The TreadClimber. Natulius/Bowflex states that the TreadClimber burn more calores than a treadmill. Natuilus/Bowflex measured caloric expendature of the treadmill at zero percent elevation. If the elevation of the treadmill is raised to the same level as the TreadClimber, caloric expendature is the same. Research presented in an NSCA article showed that. Probably the biggest problem of Nautilus/Bowflex is service. Gear Trends Mangazine, a fitness equipment magazine for retailers, survey?shows that Nautilus/Bowflex to be the winner of the " Worst Service " catatory. The last survey showed Natilus/Bowflex garnered a 40% in the " Worst Service " category. No other company came close to Nautilus/Bowflex. I worked in fitness equipment sales.Gear Trends survey is right on the money. Some of Nautilus/Bowflex products I'd rate as " Ok. " However, the majority of Nautilus/Bowflex, such as the TeadClimber, produces are sub par. If Nautilus would invest as much money in manufacturing equipment that they do in advertising, they could have a great product. However, todays Nautilus/Bowflex is more concerned with profit than quality.
