Guest guest
Hi , I recommend low-impact exercise like swimming. Foot massage and manual stretching of the feet and toes daily. Paying attention to a balanced nutritional plan. Supportive footwear such as New Balance. Connect with a physical therapist for evaluation and program. Perhaps try Vit. C, Citicoline or Curcurmin Keep stress low. Maintain a positive outlook. More info in our Files section. Gretchen
Guest guest
, I was also a late onset of CMT symptoms, though they were always there, just that no one ever recognized them. I was in my 30s when my feet started going numb. My recommendation for your sister is to take care of her feet. I hated to wear shoes and eventually did some serious damage to my feet as a result. Guest guest
Gretchen, You've just said it all. Above all, I've found a positive outlook and mind over matter make a huge difference in day to day activities. Guest guest
Hi , I agree with Gretchen. Stay active, eat well, and stretch often. I have decided to do a lot of exercise to keep my muscles strong and built up. I balance this with a lot of massage, stretching, reflexology, etc. And I have in shoe orthotic supports which are wonderful and highly recommend these to your sister. Good luck, Donna from London
