Guest guest
Group...got this email today...can you please tell me how to help this person..............she is being tested today...my CMT does not act like this..and I realize all CMT is different....Thanks Geri, My sister is only 40 years old. She started to develop symptoms about 2-3 years ago. Fist she couldn't move her toes and then she had tingling/numbness. She does have pernicious anemia as well. In fact two of my sisters do. Her condition is much worse now. She can't move her toes at all and is numb from the neck down. I believe she now has weakness in her hand too. It has also affected her speech and she has just recently begun stuttering. For what ever the reason her condition started to get much worse when she took a supplement high in Vitamin B6. She was diagnosed with B6 toxicity which can cause nerve damage. She has now undergone many tests, checking for MS, etc. She is going in for more tests in a few days. They need to rule these things out before they do the test to check for CMT because the insurance won't cover her test unless she does. I think it's about 9 thousand US dollars. If you email me offline I would be happy to put you in touch with her. Sandy
