Guest guest
Hello everyone! My name is - I'm 25 years old from Spanish Fork, UT. I've been a member of this group for a couple months, but am just getting around to posting about myself. I was diagnosed with CMT Type 1A when I was 12. I was actually tested for the disease at age 4, through a nerve biopsy, but the test came back negative. I have had roughly 12 surgeries on my feet and my left hip, and currently wear an AFO on my left leg. I was also diagnosed with scoliosis at age twelve, wore a brace for a short time for that, but gave it up after not much time. I am a mother of two, and step-mother of one. My son, luckily, does not have CMT, but my 4-month old daughter was just diagnosed with it a couple months ago. It breaks my heart to have passed this disease on to her, but hopefully I can be a source of inspiration and strength to her as she also deals with this trial. I have started my own personal blog, to document mine and my daughter's experiences with this disease, and I welcome anyone who would like to read and leave comments! The address is www.mylifewithcmt.blogspot.com. I look forward to being a part of this group, and learning from everyone here! -
